We’re looking for a Senior Investment Specialist to join our client, a well-known, major player in the financial sector, in their offices in Cape Town. Their diverse portfolio includes elements of digitisation, energy transition urbanisation, and transport and logistics across several southern African countries.
Your extensive experience in both the project finance and investment spheres of the infrastructure sector has made you an expert in deal origination and stakeholder engagement.
You are stellar at bringing deals together, applying a softer touch in negotiations with your existing network of clients to develop and manage principal transactions and investment opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively identify and secure transaction opportunities to drive business growth
- Actively contribute to the creation of principal transaction proposals and secure the necessary internal endorsements
- Oversee transactions through our clientâs process, ensuring the coordination and prioritisation of tasks, managing input from advisers, and maintaining client relationships in line with protocols and procedures
- Independently lead negotiations on specific transactions with third parties, transaction counterparties, external advisers, co-investors, debt providers, and other stakeholders
- Provide expert advice to internal committees regarding transactions
- Assist the Strategic Initiatives team with sector knowledge and transaction updates
- Thoroughly address investor queries related to transactions, portfolio companies, and sectors.
- Independently manage co-investment processes, engaging co-investor peers to achieve successful outcomes
- Engage in peer discussions on financial and operational performance with senior management at assets to identify, structure, plan, and deliver significant operational improvements
- Represent our client and contribute value on the boards of investee companies
- Manage relationships between our clientâs, assets, co-investors, and finance providers, including designing and managing corporate governance frameworks, management incentive plans, transition plans, risk management assessments, strategy, and budget negotiations
- Participate in mentoring and managing less experienced team members
