Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Engage directly with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and willingness to pay. Translate these insights into actionable product strategies that maintain our competitive edge.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to market launch and beyond, ensuring that all products meet the highest quality and customer satisfaction standards.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the NPI process, including translating customer requirements into precise product specifications, supporting R&D, developing business cases, and managing timelines and costs with the Project Management Organization (PMO).
  • Strategic Partnerships: Manage and develop strategic partnerships to enhance our product offerings and deliver comprehensive customer solutions beyond standalone products.
  • Market Research: Stay informed on market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to refine product strategies and roadmaps continually.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior product managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless product development and launch.

What We’re Looking For

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7-10 years in product management, with a focus on software and edge technology development.
    • Expertise in edge technology, particularly in embedded solutions and smart meters, is essential for understanding and influencing the market.
    • Product management experience that includes PDRs, marketing concepts/market research, group and team leadership, and mentoring.
    • Proven experience in managing the entire SDLC from inception to market is not critical but would be advantageous.
    • Close familiarity with the energy/utility industry is highly desirable to effectively communicate the revolutionary nature of the solutions being developed.
  • Skills:
    • Presence & Charisma: A natural ability to influence and persuade, similar to a TED talk speaker, to evangelize and impact the industry.
    • Public Speaking & Performing: Strong communication skills with a technical background are key, as this role requires excellence in public speaking and executive presentations.
    • Leadership Abilities: Proven track record in mentoring and team facilitation.
    • Organizational Skills: Superior project management skills, with proficiency in relevant software tools.

Preferred “NICE TO HAVE” Requirements:

  • Formal Product Management Training: Such as Pragmatic Marketing or New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • SDLC Experience: While not essential, experience in managing the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from inception to market would be beneficial.

Pay is in the range of $94,000- $146,851 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
