Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Business Development Manager – C&I in New Delhi, India to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.  As a Business Development Manager – C&I, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new project opportunities in the region, establishing the project structure, bringing the projects to financial close and start of construction. 

 

  Main responsibilities 

  • Business Developmenta. Develop an in-depth understanding of the region’s power markets and opportunities for utility-scale solar PV projects in the markets.  b. Develop relationships with authorities, regulators and utilities, offtakers, commercial establishments and industries.   c. Identify and nurture relationships with local/regional developers, brokers, banks, contractors, etc. to identify project opportunities.  
  • Source Commercial and Industrial customer PPA’s  and/or other offtake arrangements,
  • Interconnection: Assess grid code requirements, Identify Point of Connection (PoC) and conduct grid studies, Assess land needs
  • Business case and financing: Estimate and optimize business case (incl. insurance), Secure project equity and debt finance, optimize project tax structure, assess group treasury implications, Ensure project development cost control.
  • Project governance and in-country setup: Establish project governance mechanisms, conduct local partner background checks, set up local offices & bank accounts, Recruit local resources
  • Project acquisition due diligence: Develop business case, Run technical, legal & financial due diligence.
  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Build strong relationships with key C & I clients especially in Maharashtra, South India.
    • Proficiency in one of the local languages is preferable

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Master, Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Legal or other relevant fields
  • 10 - 15 years relevant experience from project development and contract negotiation in the energy industry
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken and an additional language beneficial
  • Able to priorities responsibilities and self-manage
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Power Purchase Agreements, grid connections, permitting requirements, bidding processes and Project Financial modelling
