Senior Consultant: Decarbonization Projects and Programs

<p>2050 Partners is seeking a&nbsp;mission-driven&nbsp;Senior&nbsp;Consultant&nbsp;to&nbsp;join&nbsp;our team&nbsp;in a fully remote role.&nbsp;In this role, you will&nbsp;directly contribute&nbsp;to&nbsp;the execution and management of decarbonization&nbsp;consulting&nbsp;projects that contribute to the development of future GHG-reducing building codes and appliance standards.&nbsp;We are looking for&nbsp;team-members&nbsp;who&nbsp;are&nbsp;passionate about&nbsp;understanding clients&rsquo; pain points and&nbsp;delivering&nbsp;pragmatic solutions;&nbsp;dedicated to our&nbsp;purpose of shortening the path to carbon neutrality;&nbsp;and enthusiastic about&nbsp;growing with our dynamic consulting firm.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>We are&nbsp;seeking&nbsp;a candidate with diverse&nbsp;expertise&nbsp;so that we can align&nbsp;strengths and interests&nbsp;with different projects.&nbsp;Initial assignments will include&nbsp;one or more&nbsp;of the following project areas:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>State building codes advancement and advocacy (energy and green codes in multiple states)&nbsp;</li> <li>National model building codes advancement and advocacy (ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC)&nbsp;</li> <li>State and national appliance standards and test procedure advancement and advocacy&nbsp;</li> <li>Building performance standards &ndash; local, state, and national&nbsp;</li> <li>Local reach/stretch codes&nbsp;</li> <li>Decarbonization initiatives and research&nbsp;</li> <li>Electric vehicle charging infrastructure</li> <li>California Market Transformation Administrator (CalMTA) program engineering &amp; technical assessment</li> </ul> <p>Responsibilities include:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Be a trusted advisor for our clients by&nbsp;providing&nbsp;pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee and contribute to&nbsp;multiple projects including technical research, client engagement, subcontractor management, and external stakeholder engagement including:&nbsp;&nbsp; <ul> <li>Scoping and launching new projects</li> <li>Supporting&nbsp;primary and secondary research&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Procuring&nbsp;test equipment and arranging laboratory tests</li> <li>Supporting&nbsp;laboratory and field investigations&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Fostering&nbsp;coalition-building&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Supporting&nbsp;legal,&nbsp;regulatory, and policy&nbsp;reviews&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> <li>Develop and maintain budget forecasts across multiple projects</li> <li>Coordinate research with efforts from state programs and independent entities</li> <li>Ensure high-quality deliverables, including reports and presentations&nbsp;</li> <li>Contribute to business development and proposal writing</li> </ul> <p>Desired Qualifications and Competencies:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering or technical field(s) is&nbsp;required&nbsp;</li> <li>8+ years relevant experience&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Consulting experience and mindset: comfort&nbsp;contributing to&nbsp;complex projects&nbsp;with a problem-solving orientation that prioritizes client needs&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to learn and apply&nbsp;new&nbsp;skills across interdisciplinary fields, including technology assessments, engineering, economics, statistics, and policy</li> <li>Highest ethical standards&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Project management&nbsp;track record&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization&nbsp;</li> <li>Great initiative, creativity, and curiosity;
