Job Description:

Based in Madrid, you will work in a highly entrepreneurial and inspiring environment and become an integral part of our Corporate Portfolio Advisory team.

Distressed banking is Southern Europe created a big-opportunity in the acquisitions and sale of non -core assets in the financial sector to corporate and institutional clients. Alantra has been a first mover in the market and has managed to become one of the European leaders.

The service the Alantra team offers covers from the valuation to the structuring and sale of portfolios of different kinds: performing and non-performing loans (mortgages secured and secured loans, consumer loans, etc.), real estate assets, invoices, collection claims, etc.

Leveraging on its experience in Spain, where Alantra has been a key advisor in the banking clean-up process, being involved in transactions involving retail banking, real estate, and loan portfolios exposure, Alantra is now advising in different mandates also in Portugal, Italy, Greece and Cyprus.

The day-to-day tasks will include:

•        Support the execution of active mandates: Analysis of information, valuation of financial and real estate assets, helping senior members on financial modeling and valuation analysis, data-room management, etc.

•        Support marketing initiatives: Market research and analysis of different industry verticals, preparation of market, strategic and industry peer analysis, screening of potential targets / buyers, distressed asset - valuations, due diligence processes etc.

Interns have direct exposure to all seniority levels internally, as well as client contact where possible. Alantra gives its Interns significant responsibilities and is committed to their learning experience during their tenure with the firm.

Requirements:

Role Requirements:

•         Applicants must have strong interest in investment banking and distressed assets

•         Strong academic background / results and financial knowledge (accounting and company valuation) and understanding of financial statements

•         Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to contribute your own ideas and work autonomously

•         Proficiency in the use of Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook

•         Capable of working under pressure and in a context of shifting priorities

•         Impeccable communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)

•         Attention to detail

•         Language skills in English (proficient) is a requirement. Knowledge of other languages, as Portuguese and Italian will be valued.
