Your mission

Infinite Roots is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern in our Engineering team to join our Technical Operations team. As an Intern in Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our team of experienced engineers and scientists to support the day-to-day operations.

  • Assist the engineering department in design, development, and implementation of operational processes and procedures like fermentation, down-stream and extraction processes: calculations of energy and mass balances, improving operational cost calculation models, process flow diagrams, P&ID’s

  • Analyze data and generate reports to improve process efficiency and productivity

  • Assist in the planning and execution of experiments and tests

  • Prepare SOP’s,  work instructions, work safety forms

Your profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in process engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering with a strong focus on process and bioprocess engineering

  • Very Good knowledge in engineering calculations especially in fields of process engineering, like mass & energy balances (thermodynamics and basics in bioprocesses like fermentation)

  • Basic Knowledge of process units

  • Good knowledge in using MS-Excel calculations

  • Hands on mentality

  • Strong interest in biotechnology, process engineering and food production

  • Very good problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of English is a must, German is preferred

  • Prior experience or coursework on pilot scale plants and laboratory  is a plus
