Role Summary
To support our activity of licensing the famous V-Label, we are seeking a Legal Counsel (all genders) to oversee all legal aspects connected to the licensing. 

ProVeg e. V. is the largest legal entity to license the V-Label in Europe and exclusive Licensor in Germany. Additionally we are one of the largest entities in the ProVeg network and entail most of ProVeg’s departments. 

The main tasks consist of  ensuring legal compliance, legally and contractually in the area of licensing, the Unfair Competition Act (Gesetz gegen den unlauteren Wettbewerb) and, secondarily, trademark law. You will support a large team to stay functional and make a great difference in a sustainable environment striving towards a more plant based world. Job Details
Position Title: Legal Counsel
Contract: Two years, with the possibility of extension
Reports To: Senior Legal Counsel
Department: Berlin or Germany remote
Salary: 50.400 € to 55.000 € gross per year (FTE) - depending on experience and qualification Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice to the V-Label department and their Director on all relevant legal topics, especially License contracts, UWG, Trademark Laws, tax law. 
  • Coordinate a network of external attorneys, particularly in the area of debt enforcement
  • Supporting the internal data protection function in communicating with the external data protection officer in areas relating to the V-Label team.
  • Ensure legal compliance and prevent/mitigate risks (by monitoring projects and operations, communicating with the Director and instructing ProVeg’s employees).
  • Ensure legal compliance in daily operations.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Completed law studies with first state law exams with at least satisfactory success or a completed bachelor or master of Laws. 
  • Very good knowledge of contract law.
  • Good knowledge of corporate law obligations.
  • Good understanding of Unfair competition, trademark law.
  • At least some understanding of Compliance, Risk Management and data protection law.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
  • Assertive, persuasive while also collaborative and solution-focused working method.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to analyse complex situations and information.
  • A high degree of professional ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.

Preferred:
  • Minimum two years of post-graduate experience, ideally in a similar field.
  • Experience with tools such as G-Suite and Wrike.
