The Role

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer - Hydropower as technical lead to join our National Dams and Hydropower business to work closely with our other team specialists on a significant hydropower project. This role will be based in our Brisbane office.

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • 15+ years’ professional industry experience in mechanical design/design review of hydro and/or pumped storage hydro systems
  • Technical expertise in hydropower generation equipment – pumps/turbines, hydro generator, main inlet valves
  • Detail engineering design of E&M equipment for hydropower and pumped storage schemes (turbines, main inlet valves, mechanical components for generators, mechanical BoP and hydromechanical equipment)
  • Extensive experience in feasibility studies, tender and detail design, site supervision, commissioning and rehabilitation
  • Sound understanding in mechanical design to Australian standards
