Pay rate: $32.68 Hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all primary scheduling department functions and quality control of department work product.
- Directly supervise day-to-day scheduling department functions and staff including creating and filling daily scheduling staffing needs. –
- Primary point of contact for all scheduling department functions.
- Takes lead role in creating runcut based on passenger demand, performance indicators and Operator/Vehicle availability.
- Takes lead role in system parameter analysis and recommends needed system adjustments.
- Creates daily manifests for paratransit drivers based on customer demands and labor agreements.
- Assist Reservationist with placing trips on drivers manifest and negotiating appropriate trip times for customer at point of call.
- Contacts Customers during scheduling process when appropriate to negotiate pick up window for efficiency in the service.
- Assigns Drivers and compares systems to make sure all routes are covered daily.
- Assist Management in recruiting drivers to work additional hours and to cover for scheduled absences or for early call-offs prior to close of daily scheduling.
- Monitors efficiencies of manifests to ensure that routes are logical and efficient based on customer needs.
- Utilizes computer software to assist in the development of schedules, Drivers Bid, vehicle hour, mileage, and patronage statistic
- Develops and maintains statistical records regarding schedules, personnel requirements, and equipment requirements
- Prepares, orders, and proofreads schedule materials prior to publication
- Ensures all Operator runs are fully complaint with meal, rest break and hours of service restrictions.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required
Experience:
- One year transit operations, paratransit reservations, transit scheduling, or other transit-related experience utilizing transit routes and schedules.
- Minimum 1 year Trapeze PASS scheduling or other transportation scheduling experience required.
- Knowledge of local area including navigation principals and thorough knowledge of geographical service areas.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Ability to read, comprehend and understand maps
- Ability to read, understand, interpret, and explain transit system operating rules, regulations, policies, phases, and routes
- Perform arithmetic and basic statistical calculations rapidly and accurately
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Manipulate and analyze data using arithmetic formulas and detailed procedures - Read and understand rules, policies, maps, and schedules
- Utilize computer software
