We have an exciting opportunity to join our Vinidex business as a Maintenance Fitter. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and based at our site in Toowoomba. You will be responsible for the delivery of maintenance and continuous improvement activities, safety and monitoring of production assets to ensure optimal plant performance and strategic maintenance activities are achieved.

What will you do?

  • Ensure a safety-first culture and adoption of the Vinidex iCARE behaviours, to achieve world class workplace safety standards

  • Conduct breakdown and reactive maintenance activities across the sites and facilities

  • Periodic preventative maintenance tasks and resultant corrective actions, Work Order Requests from production partners, workshop overhauls, equipment/infrastructure repairs are allocated and completed in a planned, timely manner

  • Maximise equipment availability/reliability to sites operations including infrastructure and production equipment

  • Accurately update and use the MEX/CMMS system, ensuring the job descriptions and spare parts usage is up to date

  • In conjunction with Maintenance and Production Management, improve the quality of the maintenance production interaction in the workplace

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are planned

  • As appropriate, develop standard operating procedures for process critical activities

  • Perform assigned duties in line with budgetary guidelines

  • Minimise wastage of consumables as much as is reasonably practical

About You

At least 5 years proven experience in planning and executing maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment. 

You have a good understanding of equipment maintenance, management processes, concepts, and tools. A safe working environment is important to you, and you have a good understanding and implementation of safe working best practices. Able to work autonomously with effective time-management skills and a keen an eye for detail.

Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • CMMS (MEX or equivalent) demonstrated capability

  • Advanced understanding of hydraulic & pneumatics

  • Knowledge of extrusion, recycling, fabrication/assembly, water process plant and associated equipment

  • Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade

  • Licensed: Forklift, EWP
