Job Description
Responsible for the project management of ACCIONA Energy internal and external inputs for development ensuring that projects progress to commercial pre-construction phase while recognising schedule, cost and quality expectations.
This role additionally provides strategic development input including engineering, commercial and planning advice to guide the logical and strategic passage of ACCIONA Energy projects from feasibility through to the construction
and operational phases.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Coordination
Responsible for the overall delivery of projects through to investment case stage, implementing engineering
strategies and policies and maintaining overview of O&M requirements
Coordination of internal Engineering & Construction, Environment & Planning, Finance, Legal and Community
Relations inputs and collaboration with AE Development team counterparts.
Management of external consultants to facilitate project development.
Management of projects to budget and agreed timeframes.
Responsible for the timely delivery of the grid connection process with the assistance of legal and engineering
support.
Responsible for stakeholder and community relations to ensure the successful delivery of project
development. With assistance from the Community Relations Coordinator(s) and ACCIONA colleagues ensure
all stakeholder community relations aspects are planned and managed in accordance with best practice
guidelines and ACCIONA values.
Development Strategy and Assessment
Desktop and field based investigations into development constraints on short listed prospect sites and
projects in feasibility stage.
Provision of accurate and timely strategic assessment of development issues, risk and opportunity.
Management of development issues as they emerge within projects with the appropriate stakeholders.
Preparation of project reports on progress, budget, schedule, issues, risk and opportunity.
Attendance at community events and discussion of key development considerations.
Liaison with landowners and neighbours regarding key development matters.
Monitoring of development legislation and regulations.
Landholder liaison and negotiations
Responsible for developing and maintaining trusting and productive project landholder relationships from
initiation through to construction handover.
Negotiate and manage landholder lease agreement process and address landholder/lease issues in close
collaboration with ACCIONA Energy legal team.
Commercial Development
Assist the Senior Manager, Project Development to assess commercial viability of projects
Assist the Senior Manager, Project Development to identify acquisition opportunities
Keep abreast of competitor activities.
Coordinate the development of project reports and investment cases.
Relationship Management
Assist the Senior Manager, Project Development to build relationships with decision makers within state and
local governments.
Development and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders including local, state and federal
Government staff and local community representatives.
Industry Policy
Keep abreast of policy and legislation as relevant to wind and solar business development.
Assist in the provision of reports and briefings to ACCIONA Energy/AE management on policy and legislation
as it relates to project development and commercial viability.
Key Result Areas

Required Skills and Competencies
Required
Tertiary qualifications in engineering.
Demonstrated experience in project management and business development.
Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Skills and experience in negotiation and an ability to influence outcomes and decisions.
Excellent written and oral communications skills; the ability to develop clear and concise development plans
and presentations covering project status, timeline, risk assessment, and budget needs and performance.
Ability to operate at a detailed level, to organize and multi-task, with a dedication to seeing projects through
to completion.
Understanding of local community dynamics, with the ability to negotiate effectively with landowners,
regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders.
Desirable
Previous experience in the wind and solar industry and project development desirable.
Previous experience in working across cultures.
