The Role

We're looking for Undergraduate and Graduate Environmental Scientists, and Civil & Environmental Engineers with an interest in developing a career within Environment, Waste & Resource Recovery.


Join SMEC and our Graduate Development Program and you'll have the chance to work on some of the most complex projects in Australia.


As part of our program, you will get to:

  • Contribute to the delivery of major industry projects and local community ventures

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, reports, and other documents

  • Partner with supportive colleagues through our buddy system

  • Access a range of industry events and networking opportunities

  • Be part of a large and diverse community of graduates across ANZ

We promise both in-person and online training on everything from consulting with clients to managing your time effectively through our graduate development workshops.


About You

  • If you’re an aspiring Undergraduate, you’ll be in your third or penultimate year of study in a relevant engineering/science degree

  • Graduates will be in their final year, or have graduated within the last 2 years

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Ability to effectively manage one's time and workload

  • A developed knowledge of analytical methods, tools, and principles
