Overview
The Consulting Analyst position is in our Consulting division and performs research, writing, and analysis to support the successful execution of consulting projects and services delivering energy solutions to clients across the country. Project work focuses on decarbonization, through energy efficiency and building and transportation electrification. This position reports to a Manager, Consulting.
Location:
This is a remote position and the ideal candidate will be located near Madison, Wisconsin, however applicants located near these locations will be considered:

Compensation:
At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $48,000 - $58,000 annualized. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities
- Conducts research for a variety of VEIC’s energy efficiency and building and transportation electrification projects, applying quantitative and/or qualitative methods, and analyzes research to derive insights, including literature reviews, code/policy/program research, stakeholder outreach (through interviews/surveys), extracting useful insights from large existing data sets
- Assists in the delivery of project deliverables for external clients, including market studies, energy efficiency program reports, research and innovation initiatives, decarbonization plans, fleet studies, energy efficiency program processes, project tracking, funding application plans, research project findings reports/presentations, and more
- Supports project and program work under the direction of a project team lead in collaboration with the project team, including attending project meetings, task management, file/document management, program administration, and program record keeping.
- Supports the development of approaches and methods and, in some cases, may lead tasks on projects.
- Supports activities of other staff, groups, and divisions within VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.
- Excellent research skills, including facility with outlining a clear research plan/paper and following citation and formatting conventions
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of qualitative analysis techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
- General knowledge of standard office computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience with energy efficiency, transportation and/or building electrification analysis, programs, or policies is preferred.
