Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, onsite, Moses Lake, WA

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Development & Deployment: New sourcing strategies to improve quality, total cost, availability and drive competition. Identify new grow suppliers, create simplicity through supplier rationalization / optimization (Grow, Limit, Maintain, Phase Out), develop emerging market strategies, develops full lifecycle sourcing strategies (Pathfinding, NPD, R&D, HVM, Production, EOL). Link to Production, Commercial & Engineering while supporting transitions (test, ramp, EOL). Sustain business continuity plans (BCP), performs project management of strategic initiatives
  • Savings Initiatives: Cost savings & roadmaps, inventory reduction. Design for Engineering (DFE) to drive lowest total cost, utilizing creativity and best practices. Negotiates contracts, identifies sourcing opportunities, keeps abreast of industry trends, understands material market movements and effects on commodities, P&L leader of commodity owned. Delivers save (PPV) and cost avoidance to set goals
  • Quality: Supplier deep dive & due diligence (D&B, Z-score, etc.), supplier qualifications, change horizon, quality improvement plans, continuous improvement roadmap, audits, process maps / flows, SOP’s/WI, root cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, postmortems, scenario planning, risk assessments, business continuity planning (BCP)
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Set strategic and operational direction for supplier, acts as escalation point, lead business reviews & executive business reviews, proliferates organizational initiatives/systems, supplier scorecards, generate non-binding forecasts. Project management & performance against schedule (PAS). Category / Commodity plans & reviews, maintain & analyze key commodity data, metrics and indicators (CSI/KPI)
  • Supplier Contract Management: Supplier survey, selection, debrief & award, including RFI, RFP, RFQ, NDA, contracting, negotiation. Negotiate with suppliers to support save, contract penetration and other deliverables for contracts. Lead Stakeholder reviews and approvals for supplier contracts, monitors, assesses & re-bids/re-negotiates. Monitors supplier and company/facility contract compliance and performance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supply Chain degree preferred, minimum four-year business degree
  • Commodity/Category Manager or related work experience preferably in chemical supply chain in R&D and high-volume-manufacturing (HVM) environments
  • Semi-conductor or high-tech experience, prefer chemical background & experience
  • Prefer certification as an APICS’ “Certified in Production and Inventory Management” (CPIM), “Certified Supply Chain Professional” (CSCP) and/or Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Certified Professional Supply Management (CPSM)
  • Prefer LEAN, Six Sigma Yellowbelt or Greenbelt
  • Prefer Lead Audit certified, preferably ISO9001:2015 or supplier audit experience
  • Analytical skills, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience with business acumen in global chemical supply chains
  • Critical thinking, scenario planning, & risk mitigation techniques and systems
  • Ability to work effectively with high tolerance of ambiguity

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $85K-$116K.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
