Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Team Member Management: Oversee four to six direct reports responsible for accounts receivable, payable, billing, banking, payroll, and rebate fulfillment. Also responsible for working with external service providers such as CPA, tax advisors, retirement plan administrators, and banking partners.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP. Support CFO with presentation of financial reports to the leadership and ownership teams.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor the company's annual budget and forecasts. Support managers with reporting, insights, and recommendations based on financial analysis.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records. Experience with SSAE 16 is preferred.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions. Ensure efficient and accurate processing of transactions and regular reconciliation processes.
- Rebate Fulfillment Management: Oversee Evergreen’s rebate fulfillment function in collaboration with Evergreen’s operations team and external rebate fulfillment vendors.
- Strategy Support: Working with the CFO, Ownership, and Leadership team, support business strategy through analysis, data presentation, and risk assessment.
- Tax Planning and Management: Oversee tax planning strategies and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors.
- Policy Development: Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as required, providing financial expertise and support.
Required Job Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Experience in the consulting, professional services, or energy industry is required.
- Technical Skills: Proven professional accounting experience in the areas of responsibility listed above is required.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Deltek ERP administrator experience or other large ERP system is required, financial software implementation experience is a plus. Experience with reporting software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or databases. Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate and develop strong relationships with direct reports, team members, and business partners is required.
Other Requirements:
- We are a fully remote telecommuting organization; must be able to work from home.
- Must be located in one of the following states that Evergreen is an authorized employer (OR, WA, ID, WY, UT, AZ, CO, MO, IL, WI, MI, CT, VT, MA). Strong preference for candidates located in OR, WA, or UT.
