Senior Software Engineer

<p>We are currently seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, and knowledgeable Senior Software Engineer to join our team supporting our continued growth and innovation to build interconnected and resilient communities.</p><p></p><p><strong>Objective: </strong>As a Principal Engineer of Software, you will be an integral part of our team, leading the design, development, and troubleshooting of the ecoLong’s software solutions such as: energy trading and optimization, [<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.energy.gov/eere/solar/project-profile-ecolong-fy19-sbirsttr">link</a>], cybersecurity, [<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.energy.gov/ceser/articles/small-businesses-big-innovations-cesers-sbir-phase-i-awards">link</a>], among others.</p><p></p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities for the role</strong> (including, but not limited to):</p><ul><li><p>Design, document, and develop quality software solutions spanning multiple platforms</p></li><li><p>Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative environment with evolving project requirements</p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong>Ideal candidates will possess the following:</strong></p><ul><li><p>B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline</p></li><li><p>Minimum 2 years of working experience</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding and development experience (Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar)</p></li><li><p>Practical experience designing and delivering high quality end-to-end solutions</p></li><li><p>Experience with Agile /SCRUM methodology for product development</p></li><li><p>Experience with building pipelines to automate the software development, testing, and deployment lifecycle like AzureDevOps, Circle CI, etc.</p></li><li><p>Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes</p></li><li><p>Experience with open-source container ecosystem or serverless cloud services</p></li><li><p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p></li><li><p>Able to cope with and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic work environment with evolving project requirements</p></li><li><p>A passion for sustainability and advancing clean energy initiatives</p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong>About ecoLong:</strong></p><p>ecoLong is an energy technology startup located in Albany, New York and New York, New York that is committed to building resilient communities by leveraging interconnected and smart devices. &nbsp;By partnering with leading research institutions, smart technology partners, communities, and our customers, we strive to build best in class enterprise-grade technology solutions to actively monitor, optimally control, and intelligently manage energy assets and create grid-interactive and efficient communities at scale.
