We are seeking an experienced and innovative Product Manager for Data to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy, development, and management of data-centric products and services, including the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive product and dataset catalog. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, marketing, and sales, to deliver products that leverage data to create significant business value.



 

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for data products.
  • Identify opportunities and customer needs to develop data-driven solutions.
  • Align product vision with the company’s overall strategy and objectives.

Product & Dataset Catalog Management:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed catalog of data products and datasets.
  • Ensure the catalog is comprehensive, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with data governance and engineering teams to standardize dataset documentation and metadata.
  • Promote the catalog internally to ensure teams are aware of available data assets and how to leverage them.

              

Product Development:

  • Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to build and deliver data products.
  • Prioritize features, define product requirements, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Drive the product lifecycle from concept through launch and iteration.

                             

Data Management:

  • Oversee the collection, storage, and use of data, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with regulations.
  • Work closely with data governance teams to establish and maintain data policies.
  • Advocate for best practices in data management and usage across the organization.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their data needs and pain points.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable product features.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies.

Analytics & Insights:

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products and track progress.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve product outcomes.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior product managers or team members.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data products or analytics.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful data-driven products.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of data management, data governance, and data privacy.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.
  • Understanding of machine learning and AI principles.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup or technology company.
