Job Description

ACCIONA M&E is seeking an experienced Engineering/Design Manager with expertise in Secondary Systems for Transmission & Distribution Lines. If you have a strong background in managing design projects, safety, and operational efficiency in the energy sector, this role offers an opportunity to lead innovative and sustainable solutions within a global infrastructure company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design coordination and delivery of secondary systems projects for transmission and distribution lines.
  • Collaborate with engineers to collect data, perform calculations, and produce designs, charts, and cost estimations.
  • Ensure project designs align with contractual specifications and are delivered within agreed scope and timelines.
  • Oversee site inspections, interpret work packages, and direct fieldwork to ensure quality civil works.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality management standards, including the preparation of construction safety documents and adherence to Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Plant Hazard Risk Assessments (PHRAs).
  • Manage project teams and maintain a safe and efficient workplace through proactive planning, effective communication, and the enforcement of safety protocols.

Required Skills and Competencies

Required Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in Secondary Systems Design for transmission and distribution, with a proven track record in protection & control systems.
  • Experience with major industry players.
  • Leadership in delivering large-scale design and construction projects, including supervising multiple stakeholders and ensuring adherence to environmental management plans.
  • Expertise in project planning, budget control, and resource allocation to meet production forecasts and program requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Trade certificate or equivalent qualifications (AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma).
  • Strong knowledge of safety management practices (e.g., White Card, Provide First Aid Level 2, Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical control, instrumentation, or secondary systems design, with recent roles such as Design Delivery Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Technologist.
  • Current Driver’s License.
