To date, more than 20,000 young people have participated in the Corps classes and service projects, learning new skills while contributing to the quality of life for all of us in the greater Los Angeles area.</span></span></p><p> </p><p><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;"><strong>Mission</strong><br>The primary mission of the LA Conservation Corps is to provide at-risk young adults and school-aged youth with opportunities for success through job skills training, education and work experience with an emphasis on conservation and service projects that benefit the community.</span></span></p><p> </p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Position Summary</span></span></strong></p><p><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Attendance Coach adds value to the organization and helps promote its mission by performing the requirements of the position with the highest level of integrity and respect for others. The Attendance Coach is responsible for clerical work involved in accurately maintaining attendance records and assisting Corpsmembers, staff and management in all matters related to attendance.</span></span></p><p> </p><p><strong><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Essential Functions</span></span></strong></p><ul><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Receives and confirms attendance information by phone and/or email from sites, noting necessary data to incorporate into attendance record keeping system. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Receives, reviews, and verifies a variety of forms and records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to applicable rules, regulations and procedures. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Collaborates with Human Resources, Programs and Corpsmember Development departments to generate performance discussion and management forms. Responsible for generating disciplinary action forms related to attendance and sending them to the site(s) for completion.</span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;"><span style="color:#0e101a;">Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality in carrying out responsibilities. </span></span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Answers telephones in a timely, friendly fashion; screen calls; return calls as directed with requested information; assist callers as able; completes tasks accurately and by their deadline; complete messages; forwards calls to other staff members as appropriate. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Performs daily record keeping activities required to maintain accurate attendance records and data files according to organization procedures. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Contacts Corpsmembers and staff to verify absences. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;"><span style="background-color:white;"><span style="color:#0e101a;">Provides daily attendance notifications/updates for sites; work closely with site staff.</span></span></span></span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Compiles statistical information related to attendance; prepares, prints, and distributes attendance reports and lists to management. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Updates computerized data files and records on a regular basis for information and notifies appropriate staff of variances in attendance patterns. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Files forms and correspondence; maintains confidentiality of records as assigned. </span></span></li><li><span style="font-size:12pt;"><span style="font-family:Times , serif;">Plans, schedules, and arranges meetings.
