What you will do
The Training Coordinator is essential to ensure a competent workforce producing top quality battery components safely and with opportunities for growth and development. The Training Coordinator collaborates with supervisors, managers, and SMEs to define competency needs for positions, identify gaps, coordinate, and document the required training for temporary workers, new full time, transfers and incumbent workers including general salaried position training requirements. This position ensures training is completed in an efficient, effective, and standardized way, and supports the development and implementation of the full shop floor qualification program including planning, implementation, coordination, documentation and tracking of all training.
This position reports to the Plant Human Resources Manager.
How you will do it
Coordinate the hourly and salaried employee training programs to ensure new and incumbent employees can demonstrate competency to perform work required for the position.
a. Work with SMEs and supervisors to define requirements and competency levels for various positions.
b. Develop/update/maintain the training matrix for all positions and applicable training documents.
c. Develop/update/maintain hourly practical exams.
d. Ensure new hire, transfer and required incumbent worker training is completed effectively, on time and competency is documented.
e. Schedule salaried employee week one onboarding per position with hiring manager.
Create / audit / modify Operator Description Sheets (ODS) in including each task per job.
a. Obtain EHS, Quality, Technical (BAE/TAE) training requirements and content from the EHS, Quality and Maintenance / Engineering Departments.
b. Ensure Technical Review, photographs and video are included where applicable.
c. Digitalize.
Ensure all training materials comply with ISO9000 and other applicable requirements.
Ensure Trainers by shift and department are competent and qualified as trainers.
Conduct Gap Analysis with department and shift management to develop training plan based on past due, current needs and future objectives.
Work directly with external training resources (Gateway, Kentucky Grants, etc…) to design and implement training.
a. Explore new apprenticeships. Schedule and notify participants of classes and document attendance.
b. Complete forms on time to request grant dollars for incumbent workers.
Track 30, 60 and 90 day and annual hourly performance review and practical exams completion.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology/Design, Communications, or related field preferred.
Manufacturing industry experience required.
Previous work experience in instructional design or industrial training and education required.
Able to work on the production floor for extended periods of time.
Firm grasp of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ability to learn and use other computer programs.
Preferred
Previous work experience in program/project coordination preferred.
