As our new Senior Managing Consultant, you will join our stellar team that supports clients with a wide range of environmental issues. We are seeking someone with initiative and relevant leadership experience to help grow our sustainability practice and contribute to advancing innovative, cross-disciplinary solutions for our clients. We are looking for candidates with 10-20 years of experience largely with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and sustainability project management experience in a consulting environment. Your new role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide overall leadership for LCA services, including developing long-term client relationships, building sales pipeline, ensuring high quality project delivery, and contribute to growing and building capacity of the required team to deliver against agreed upon growth targets.
  • Work alongside the established Ramboll global LCA teams which includes approximately 70 LCA practitioners.
  • Technical execution of LCA projects during the interim period as we expand the LCA team.
  • Oversee project delivery with a focus on client management, quality assurance, and building deep, long-term relationships that position Ramboll as the partner of choice for our clients.
  • Provide industry-specific thought leadership on emerging LCA, sustainability, and climate change topics and leverage your and Ramboll’s collective expertise to position Ramboll as a trusted, expert advisor in this sector.
  • Collaborate with Ramboll’s UK and global business units to identify and develop business opportunities.
  • Drive innovation and thought leadership within focus area(s) to stay ahead of client needs and support brand and positioning efforts.
  • Work cooperatively to manage team growth and workload, and train/mentor staff to drive career development for junior team members.

 

Your new team

You will be part of our Sustainability and Carbon team within the UK Environment and Health business unit. We provide services in net zero strategy, science-based targets advisory, carbon data management, energy efficiency, sustainability and climate risk, biodiversity net gain, natural capital, EHS management, impact assessment, health sciences, air quality, BREEAM Infrastructure and due diligence to diverse clients in various sectors. We have a collaborative and supportive team culture that encourages initiative, teamwork, and continual improvement in all aspects of our work. You will work within our dynamic and growing team with the opportunity to work and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas including transport, marine and buildings across the wider Ramboll business. 

 

About you

These include:

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or related discipline.
  • 10-20 years sustainability consulting experience including LCA and carbon management.
  • Experience delivering LCA, sustainability, and/or carbon management projects to clients across a variety of sectors, including development of project scopes, coordination and delegation of work, and management of budget and schedule.
  • Subject matter expertise in LCA and LCA calculations, methods and standards.
  • Experience developing and modelling environmental LCAs, EPD, and/or carbon footprints.
  • Certifications related to LCA and sustainability (e.g., ISO 14040/14044).
  • Proficiency in Umberto, SimaPro or similar LCA Software.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in LCA.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

 

Not essential but you may also be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Experience in Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA), social, economic or organizational LCA, Life Cycle Costing, and/or Economic Input-Output LCA
  • Experience with product sustainability, design for the environment, and design for sustainability approaches and sustainable product taxonomies
  • Experience with audit or assurance engagements
  • Familiarity with voluntary/mandatory climate change and sustainability methodologies and reporting frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets, TCFD, CDP, SASB, GRI, GRESB, PCAF, CSRD)
  • General sustainability knowledge (waste, circular economy, sustainable finance, biodiversity, air pollution, social impact etc.)
  • Energy auditing and/or energy regulation compliance.
