AECOM is actively searching for a an experienced proposal leader to work within our Disaster Resilience Solutions (DRS) team as a Proposal and Marketing Specialist: Disaster Response and Recovery. We are looking for a proposal specialist to support strategic growth and winning work, for Federal, State and Local clients, in the disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation sectors. The Disaster Resilience Solutions (DRS) team supports federal, state, and local jurisdictions in addressing global challenges like sustainable development, climate change, humanitarian services, and disaster risk management, helping clients with preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts to implementing safeguards for resilient communities.
In this role, you will collaborate with regional and business line teams on identified priority pursuits, lead and support pre-positioning, internal and external marketing communications, RFP/RFQ responses, and interview preparation. You will work with a cross-discipline team from marketing, operations, contracts, procurement, small business programs, finance, and others as applicable. This position is within a dynamic, high-functioning team of 45+ Federal proposal and marketing experts.
This will be a hybrid work schedule position including a combination of both remote and in-office, that can be based in, but not limited to: Arlington, VA; Roanoke, VA; Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Austin, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
Proposal Management Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of compliant and compelling RFP/RFI responses for large (>$15 - $20M+), Federal, State and Local pursuits from capture through to interview stage, as required.
- In partnership with the Capture Manager, leading/participating in Go/No-Go, capture planning and positioning activities and develop the win strategies, themes, discriminators, source content, graphic concepts, and other writer guidance.
- Review and translate RFP and amendment requirements into a compliance matrix, annotated proposal outline, and content plans. Monitor and respond to amendments.
- Write and/or edit proposal content such as executive summaries, past performance sections, management approaches, and resumes/staffing sections; and providing detailed writing guidance to others for the development of technical and pricing sections.
- Lead Pink and Red reviews and serve as a reviewer on teams for DRS Federal pursuits, applying insight and knowledge related to this specific market sector.
- This position has accountability for the quality, compliance and timely delivery of the final deliverable.
- Supporting debriefs, after action reviews, and gathering of client feedback on proposals to provide continuous improvement.
- May serve as an active mentor to other proposal specialists.
Marketing Communications Responsibilities
- Develop insights, provides recommendations and makes decisions about future content activity.
- Produce content to support thought leadership, abstracts for conferences, pre-positioning for proposals, campaigns, marketing collateral, services, product and events. Content creation may be in the form of blogs, articles, reports, case studies, videos, website text, podcasts or infographics in collaboration with the Marketing Communications and Design team.
- Lead or support special projects involving teams of BL or multiple BLs staff, as directed by BL Marketing Director.
