We are looking for you to join our tech team in Berlin. 1KOMMA5° is creating Germany's largest one-stop-shop for the sale, installation, and servicing of solar panels, heat pumps, electricity solutions, and charging infrastructure. And the best part? They are all interconnected!  One of our key tech products, our energy manager "Heartbeat," is central to our mission. It enhances the user experience through our app and ensures the cheapest and cleanest energy for our customers. Additionally, it serves as a core component of our vision to build a virtual power plant.

Become a part of our mission!

Your mission

As part of a cross-functional team in the B2C domain, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and product development efforts. You'll help maintain and optimise our lab environment, where we test and integrate solar, battery, heat pump, and EV charging solutions. Working closely with experienced engineers, you'll gain hands-on experience with hardware testing, system simulations, and real-time data analysis.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the design, assembly, and maintenance of test benches for various lab experiments and product evaluations.

  • Conduct hands-on testing using existing test benches, ensuring accurate data collection and proper operation of equipment.

  • Document test results, preparing clear and concise reports to support research and development processes.

Your profile

You have:

  • You are enrolled in a university and can commit 20 hours per week.

  • You are studying a relevant degree program (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science).

  • Hands-on experience in assembling electrical boards and building circuits, with a strong technical understanding.

  • Basic knowledge of hardware and software testing processes and equipment.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in developing and programming embedded systems using Python.

  • Experience with IoT devices, renewable energy systems, or power electronics.

  • Basic knowledge of energy systems like solar, batteries, or EV charging.

  • Familiarity with lab testing tools and environments.

Benefits
  • You are part of a dynamic and highly motivated team with people who have proven that they can make things happen and move companies forward.

  • With your work, you accelerate the "energy and mobility transition" and make a concrete contribution to the sustainable transformation of our energy infrastructure.

  • You move in flat hierarchies and have direct contact with the managing directors as well as short decision-making paths.

  • Work with and learn from other skilled engineers.

  • See the direct impact of your work on a rapid-scaling user base.

  • Create a healthy balance alongside your work and enjoy all the benefits of the EGYM Wellpass.
