Electrical Test Engineer

Ecolectro develops specialty polymers and electrolytic cells for green hydrogen production, fuel cell technology, and electrolyzers. Our breakthrough alkaline exchange materials exhibit high ionic conductivity and exceptionally high chemical stability. These desirable characteristics reduce device costs and enable scalable green hydrogen, promoting access to clean energy and economically sustainable fuels.


We have an opening for a motivated hydrogen test engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. The focus of this role is to design and validate testing and data acquisition equipment related to the development of AEM water electrolyzers while working with a multidisciplinary team to conduct tests and analyze results. This is a very hands-on position, and our ideal candidate will be eager to not only design but to assist in the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of equipment. 


Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end testing of electrochemical cells and full electrolyzer systems
  • Design, assemble, and deploy test equipment to support full system development
  • Develop and execute test procedures, analyze data, and create comprehensive reports
  • Support continued optimization of test methods and equipment
  • Manage troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory and test equipment
  • Assist in prototyping and validation of full system balance of plant components
  • Write PLC control logic for automation of testing and data acquisition 
  • Provide engineering support services to the broader company



Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in testing, integration, and debugging of mechanical and electrical systems; experience low temperature fuel cells or electrochemical cells preferred. 
  • Master’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering, or bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience 
  • Proficient in scientific programming languages and data analytics tools such as Matlab, Python, Tableau, MagicPlot, etc.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent software
  • Strong organization skills, including documentation, record keeping, and follow-through
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC/SCADA systems
  • Working knowledge of renewable energy, electrochemistry, and power electronics
  • Experience with high pressure fluids and gasses
  • Comfortable with chemical handling
  • Familiarity with codes and standards such as NFPA, ASME, and IEC
