The Role

We are seeking a high performing Principal Coastal Engineer to take the next step into a leadership position managing the Singapore business.  As Manager – Coastal Engineering, this is an opportunity to take ownership of an established business and drive further growth.

As Manager – Coastal Engineering you play a pivotal role in overseeing and expanding the company’s presence in the coastal and reclamation market within Singapore.  You will shape the strategic landscape by not only overseeing the day-to-day operations but also steering the direction of the Coastal Engineering sub-sector. 

With a minimum of 15+ years in the industry (coastal development, coastal protection, sea walls, reclamation, coastal modelling and coastal adaptation to climate change), you will play a key role in;

  • Identifying, winning and delivery coastal engineering projects
  • Contributing to the growth of the team through targeted client relationship management and business development activity
  • Managing the commercial performance of the team
  • Effectively managing and leading the team to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development
  • Providing input to projects at a project management and/or review level to achieve reliable project performance in terms of both timeliness and quality

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field (engineering highly regarded)
  • Minimum of three year’s management and leadership experience, ideally gained within an engineering consultancy
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and market trends across Singapore Experience of delivering technical projects within a consultancy environment both in a Design and Project management capacity.
  • The ability to prepare successful proposals with the correct scope and budget
  • The ability to submit technical reports to a high standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
  • High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex commercial, technical and people matters.
