About the Job

About Dioxycle
Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 2% of the world's emissions.

Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality by developing a completely novel technological approach. Having completed our medium-scale Proof-of-Concept electrolyzer, we are now working towards a first-of-its-kind large-scale industrial prototype and are assembling key partnerships for future commercial roll-out.

We are supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Gigascale Capital and have raised $26M to date. We operate from two centers in Paris and California (so whether you are passionate about outdoors or good food/art scenes, we have a location for you to join!)

Your Mission

Dioxycle is seeking an intern with a background in chemical/process engineering to operate multiple lab-scale pilots for liquid and gas treatment. You will work in our engineering team (20 people), with three experienced process engineers. The main objective of this internship is to analyze the performance of different processes based on operating conditions. Your missions will be as follows:
- Start-up and operate a pilot-scale experimental system
- Create an experimental plan that meets the specifications agreed with Dioxycle's process team
- Analyze and present experimental results
- Summarize and write a report

This internship is perfect for you if you would like to gain real research experience independently, but with the support of experienced engineers.

Skillset we are looking for

  • Training in chemical/process engineering (or equivalent)
  • Ability and desire to work hands-on in an experimental lab
  • English (level B2 or above) - our working language is English as we have an international team
  • Independent-minded and proactive
  • Team-player
  • Ability to make decisions

Practical notes

  • We are looking for an intern who could start ideally in June-September for 6 months
  • *End-of-studies internship only* - if it goes well, we would offer a permanent contract after the internship ("CDI")
  • The internship will be in our experimental lab in Saint Ouen (just outside Paris), with easy transport access (lines 14, 13, RER C, etc). The internship will be paid.
