Program Specialist, Greening America's Cities
Overview
The Bezos Earth Fund is seeking a Program Specialist to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of our Greening America’s Cities initiative. Working closely with the Senior Manager, the Program Specialist supports the day-to-day engagement and implementation of program design for the Initiative, focused on urban greening and improving access to green spaces for underserved communities. The Program Specialist will also work with partners and grantees on program implementation and grant reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Greening America’s Cities team, grantees, stakeholder groups and partner foundations to manage the Greening America’s Cities initiative.
- Support project coordination, administration, implementation, events, reporting and grantmaking activities.
- Manage grantee and contractor relationships and support coordinated program delivery.
- Identify opportunities for collaborative delivery across funded organizations in each city and collect lessons learned to inform future focus areas and funding priorities.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on program activities and impact for internal and external audiences.
- Provide support to Senior Manager and Events Coordinator on Earth Fund GAC event delivery. This includes securing speakers, agenda development, logistics, invitations, and preparing materials for briefings and events.
- Support the Senior Manager in drafting internal or external-facing analyses, briefs, letters, presentations, talking points, and other materials.
- Participate in learning and evaluation activities to guide the evolution of programmatic work.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Position requires 6 - 8 years of applicable experience. Familiarity with philanthropic work and experience working with community-based and/or urban greening organizations preferred.

- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in and across teams.
- Fluency in English. Good communication skills in an additional language, such as Spanish, is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- This position is based in Washington, D.C.
- May require extended hours for urgent issues or to meet established deadlines.
- May undertake domestic travel.
Salary Range: $ 120,000- $150,000
