Job Overview
The Global Heat Reduction Initiative (GHR), hosted by SCS Global Services, serves as a comprehensive climate registry, footprint verification, and advisory platform. It supports businesses, governments, and investors in making informed sustainability investments by evaluating their impact on reducing near-term atmospheric heat. Our goal is to support efforts that can stabilize and ultimately restore Earth's climate, while simultaneously providing additional human health and environmental co-benefits in concert with UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our team is focused on projects that can be effectively deployed and scaled rapidly to slow the rise in global temperatures, using available and emerging methods and technologies.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Manager to join our team and support the implementation of our next-generation climate accounting registry. As a specialist in climate mitigation, you will be supporting the in-house technical lead for this new climate accounting registry – the only one on the market to issue credits backed by reductions in fast-acting, previously unaccounted-for climate pollutants including methane, black carbon, and HFCs, as well as measures to mitigate the loss of climate-critical ecosystems and heat-reflective ice- and snowpacks.

In this role, you will lead the methodology development process across various climate drivers and projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing project design descriptions and other technical documentation, ensuring compliance with the registry standard. You will also provide technical support to GHR's broader activities in climate advocacy, and help private sector, government, and NGO partners apply our next-generation climate accounting standard. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent writing and organizational skills, and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of compliance and transparency. You should demonstrate the ability to thrive in a startup environment in an exciting new field of climate action.
