Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager for an exciting capital construction project with a federal client in the DC Metro area. AECOM is operating as an Owner's Rep to the client.
This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for leading a construction management team to deliver capital construction projects for US Federal Government clients
- Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering a group of projects or one major project from conceptual stages through all phases of the projects, with the assistance of the project team
- Responsible for overall performance of the project team and takes the lead in reporting and ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications
- Reviews MEP contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and establishes schedules and budgets for compliance with project scope requirements and contract obligations
- Takes leadership initiative in working with internal team members, and client departments including cost/scheduling, procurement, quality assurance, construction, contracts, legal, labor relations, finance, accounting and other services and departments as required to successfully manage projects
- Provides an integrated project team approach in working with designers, contractors and governing agencies
- Reviews and comments on MEP design submissions, change orders, and contracts/sub-contracts, and represent the client interests to ensure control of and validate change orders are current, fair and efficiently processed
- Reviews comments received from governing agencies on behalf of the client and coordinates timely resolutions
- Responsible to proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and track actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones
- Reviews project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciles risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets
- Coordinates communications, stakeholder contacts and maintains good working relationships
- Monitors and controls contractual commitments to assure work being performed is in accordance with the specifications and terms of the contracts
- Reviews builder submittals and RFI documents, and provides field surveillance to ensure specified quality of design
- Conducts project coordination and client meetings as necessary to review progress and discuss upcoming work
- Works with stakeholders to negotiate and resolve conflicts, disputes, and potential claims on behalf of the client
