Wood Mackenzie has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Director to join a growing, dynamic, global organisation. This is an opportunity for a growth-oriented and commercial individual to drive the B2B demand generation strategy & campaign execution within our Upstream & Carbon Management (UCM) vertical and work closely with Sales to meet revenue targets.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for leading the Global UCM Marketing team and overseeing the development of the marketing plan, executing to budget, and cultivating a team of best-in-class marketers. They will be measured on their ability to drive demand and pipeline, while operating with an innovative and growth-oriented mindset. 

The role holder will work closely with senior leadership across the business, and therefore needs to be comfortable influencing individuals and teams across all divisions within Wood Mackenzie, including the C-Suite.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Lead and develop a team of talented, commercially minded, professional marketers

  • Develop and continually evaluate the UCM Marketing strategy

  • Secure and effectively manage the UCM Marketing budget

  • Lead the team to develop, deliver & continually evaluate marketing programs that drive company objectives, UCM priorities, and Marketing goals

  • Constantly review and evaluate Marketing performance to target and share this with stakeholders

  • Collaborate with your counterparts in adjacent verticals to share learnings and best practice

  • Partner closely with Account and Product Sales leadership to understand goals, identify marketing opportunities, evaluate performance to target, and establish a continual feedback loop on marketing campaigns

  • Work closely with the Head of Lead Management to ensure close alignment and collaboration between teams and that campaign MQL follow-up is optimised

  • Work closely with Brand, Digital, Content, and PR teams to amplify program content, reach new audiences, and generate quality leads

  • Work with Product Marketing in support of go-to-market activities

  • Work with the Events team to ensure alignment and synergy around messaging, audience targeting, and to maximise impact

  • Work with the Performance & Operations team to leverage the data, insights, and operational best practice they provide in the pursuit of a continual improvement culture within the team

  • Evaluate, select, and manage vendors to achieve maximum ROI

  • Measure ROI for all activities and ensure the team are applying A/B testing and optimisation strategies to their campaigns

 

About You and How You Can Excel in This Role

  • 10+ years’ experience in Marketing, predominantly in B2B, and focused on demand generation

  • A proven track record in coaching and developing a team, and driving a high-performance culture

  • Demonstrated experience of senior stakeholder management

  • Proven ability to translate business objectives into Marketing strategy and goals, and to align Marketing strategy with tactical plans

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively & drive innovation

  • Data-driven decision-making skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to influence and engage peers and colleagues across the organisation

  • Experience managing a budget, delivering ROI, and demonstrating good judgment in resource optimisation

  • Experience working with vendors, agencies, and freelancers

  • Experienced martech user (experience using Salesforce and Pardot would be beneficial)

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills

  • A passion for growing the business and a genuine interest in developing yourself

  • Knowledge of the energy & commodity markets would be beneficial
