Job Function

INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Quality & Process Controls and Improvement at our Los Angeles plant, reporting directly to the Site Manager. The incumbent will have the management responsibility for all aspects of the Plant’s Quality and Controls Programs. The incumbent will provide leadership that insures the safe, environmentally conscious, production of quality products at the LA Facility in a cost-effective manner. The Manager Quality & Process Improvement must be highly committed to the job and must have the ability to be flexible, function in a fast paced and demanding manufacturing atmosphere and promote change and innovation.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and develop the Process Engineer and three to four Lab Technicians
  • Define DCS training and responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvement projects
  • Support Management of Change and Process Hazard Analyses Processes
  • Comply with and enforce all company and plant policies and procedures.
  • Perform employee appraisals and reviews.
  • Ensure Laboratory Technicians organize, properly document and maintain quality control records, and complete work to ensure timely completion of the posted production schedule.
  • Manage the Quality budget with annual plant budget allocation

Quality Management System:

  • Manage all aspects of Quality Management System.
  • Maintain ISO Lead Auditor certification.
  • Train internal auditors, plan internal audits, and lead management reviews and maintain plant score card.
  • Write, review and update procedures.
  • Ensure lab instruments are maintained and calibrated.
  • Lead new product and raw material introduction reviews.
  • Investigate quality incidents, prepare responses related to customer complaints.
  • Utilize root cause analysis to develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Track non-conforming material dispositions in the plant.
  • Prepare presentations for customer data reviews.

Process Improvement:

  • Work with the Plant and Operations Manager to ensure product specifications are met in a timely manner.
  • Revise formulation and recipes to remove cook and blend adjustments and lost cycle time.
  • Manage Administration of the plants distributed control system, DeltaV.
  • Create new product recipes, procedures, and troubleshoot programming and equipment.
  • Oversee site processes for Aspen, DeltaV and cyber security maintenance.
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis teams, six sigma (desirable), and 5-S (desirable).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3+ years of Supervisory experience desirable.  
  • Process Control Experience: Candidate with administration and programming experience in Emerson Delta V technology is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly motivated, goal oriented, strong team player.
  • Requires minimal supervision.
  • Experience writing procedures and work instructions.
  • Strong computer and organizational skills.
