Job Mission
Terraformation is looking for a Restoration Technician to implement and care for forestry projects in Hawaiʻi. Our Internal Forestry Operations team leads our mission, showing that even faraway places can inspire creative solutions for a green tomorrow. As a Restoration Technician, you'll play a key part in supporting our mission by implementing and maintaining Terraformation's reforestation projects in Hawaiʻi. Our projects demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods and equipment to the world.

This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and requires consistency so that the projects succeed at every development stage. We are looking for someone who enjoys working out in the field and is passionate about being a part of the team that directly restores native Hawaiian forests on degraded lands. Every detail of the project is important to its success and should be approached with care and attention.

We have multiple work sites, and this position may be based at any of our sites on Hawaiʻi Island.  Therefore, driving to field sites will be required and is an essential function of the position.  Your motor vehicle record with the State of Hawaiʻi will be checked upon hire and annually thereafter.

Restoration technicians at Terraformation generally work in a team of two or more when in the field. Therefore, being a team player who contributes to a positive team environment is essential to our success. With that said, it is also important to be self motivated and an independent worker as there may be times where you could be expected to perform tasks on your own.

Being a startup company, flexibility and an inquisitive mind is very much valued as you may be required to help with tasks outside of the usual restoration field work, this can include work in the nursery, seed collecting, seed banking, infrastructure, or agroforestry.
