About the Job

REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers.  With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.

We are actively hiring passionate interns who can help us get our vehicle to market as quickly and safely as possible. We are backed by the world’s best investors: the same investors who are behind SpaceX, Palantir, Boom Supersonic, and more. We have over $9B in provisional orders from some of the industry’s largest operators and are hitting the ground running.

Are you looking to springboard your career into the transportation space in sales, marketing, and strategic communications? Do you have a passion for sustainable transportation, aviation and maritime industries and new, innovative technologies?

REGENT is seeking a Government Relations Business Development Intern to support our government partnerships at the federal, state, and local levels. Developing long-term strategic partnerships with the government is a crucial aspect of REGENT's ambitious goal of making sustainable 100% electric travel a reality. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in developing relationships across our government stakeholders, including the Department of Defense, U.S. Coast Guard, Congress, and numerous other federal, state, and local entities. As a Government Relations and Business Development intern, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of these partnerships as well as seek out and capture business development opportunities, draft contract proposals, and assist in briefing senior government officials.

The perfect candidate should be inquisitive, a great listener, have high emotional intelligence, have a passion for the aviation and maritime sectors, and be a natural team player. They should be interested in sales and business development, get excited by new technologies, and be eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day administrative needs of the Vice President of Government Relations
  • Assist in drafting contract solicitations
  • Support applications and proposals to various federal contract solicitations
  • Build out compliance matrices
  • Conduct research and provide written and oral briefing materials to help inform decision-makers
  • Connect open-source government APIs to data visualization software and build dashboards to enable the GR team with policy tracking, stakeholder management, and electoral district visualization.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, communications, or engineering
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest and experience with sales, marketing, and communications
  • A bias for action
  • High level of energy with a strong passion for sustainability and resiliency-based business
  • Results-orientated with a strong work ethic
  • Personal creativity and drive -- the courage to break new ground and establish the highest standards of excellence to achieve sales targets and goals
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to act fast and be decisive
  • Strategic thinker that ethically meets company goals

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Python, Power BI, Tableau, or R experience

<p>REGENT&rsquo;s mission is to drastically reduce the time and cost of moving people and goods between coastal cities. Our vehicle, called a seaglider, is an all-electric, wing-in-ground-effect craft that operates within a wingspan of the water's surface and couples the speed of an airplane with the operating cost of a boat. Built to the same safety standards as all modern aircraft and watercraft, our vehicle will service routes up to 180 miles with existing battery technology and routes up to 500 miles with next-gen batteries, all via existing dock infrastructure.
