Team Size: 8 backend engineers (Hamburg & Berlin)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent  Why This Role Matters

At Rabot Energy, we’re transforming how people consume and manage renewable energy. Our mission is simple but bold — to make green energy smarter, more transparent, and accessible to everyone.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you’ll play a key role in building and scaling the core systems that power our energy platform — from dynamic electricity pricing to smart EV charging and real-time energy insights. You’ll work at the heart of a team that connects customers, devices, and data to enable a truly sustainable energy future.

This is a great fit for an engineer who loves solving complex technical challenges, writing clean, scalable code, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver real impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs that power our platform.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Data, and Operations) to deliver features that drive customer value.

  • Contribute to system architecture discussions and help shape our evolving technical landscape.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using best practices (CI/CD, TDD).

  • Improve scalability, reliability, and performance across distributed systems.

  • Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and team knowledge-sharing.

  • Help mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable systems and APIs.

  • Familiarity with agile development, CI/CD, and automated testing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset.

  • Fluency in English

  • Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in energy tech, IoT, or mobility.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures or microservices at scale.

  • Experience mentoring peers or leading small technical initiatives.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

  • You’ve delivered key backend features that improved performance, stability, or customer experience.

  • You’ve contributed to a clean, scalable system architecture aligned with our long-term goals.
