Overview of the Role

Rystad Energy is seeking ambitious and motivated research analysts within oil and gas greenhouse gas emissions research and product development. We are looking for an analytical individual with knowledge and/or interest in this domain that can strengthen the fast-growing oil and gas Emissions research and product team.

The successful candidates are expected to establish themselves as a core resource within oil and gas emissions, and to contribute with data collection, research, market analysis, product maintenance/development, and client support/meetings. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company that has strong ambitions within the whole energy transition space, and from day one contribute and impact the company’s research and product development.

Location: Oslo, Norway

Key responsibilities

  • Research, gather, clean and analyze data related to oil and gas emissions product portfolio
  • Support and contribute in defining and developing world-class products within this domain
  • Produce and publish commentaries, reports and articles on sustainability/emissions topics, including oil and gas value chain emissions. Attend/present in webinars.
  • Client support activities, onboarding of new clients
  • Attend client meetings, external conferences/presentations
  • Contribute in management consulting projects within this domain on-demand

Experience and qualifications

  • University degree within Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Physics or similar is required. Strong academic track record.
  • Experience with and/or interest in Energy Transition, Sustainability, and other related topics. Relevant experience within the energy space is beneficial, but not a prerequisite, e.g. ESG, energy value chains, decarbonization, carbon accounting, etc.
  • 0-5 years of working experience from relevant industry/sector, graduates are welcome to apply  
  • Analytical and experience within data management/handling
  • A positive person with strong motivation to personally develop and contribute to the company’s development and growth
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products (especially Excel and PowerPoint), experience with Power BI is beneficial
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is an excellent multi-tasker
  • Self-motivated, proactive, open-minded and creative
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication skills (English), both verbally and in written form
