Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking an associate level, full-time Procurement Specialist to join our team.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor of Land-Based Aquaculture, the Procurement Specialist has a key role to ensure the smooth operation of all areas of Innovasea.  The candidate must exhibit a customer first attitude with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and work in a fast-paced setting.

Primary areas of responsibilities include:

  • Procurement of inventory material for assigned products/commodities including calculation of requirements using MRP and other tools, PO entry, transmission to suppliers, follow-up, expediting, issue resolution
  • Procurement of non-inventory material based on requisitions and requirements for MRO items (Maintenance, Repair & Operations)
  • Conduct analysis of shipment arrivals and provide report out to cross functional business units
  • Communicate and maintain suppliers' delivery dates in ERP system
  • Maintain Approved vendor list
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with vendors
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to facilitate competitive pricing, on-time delivery, quick resolution of problems and excellent customer service
  • Communicate vendor payment requests with internal finance team to ensure pre-payments are scheduled appropriately

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in procurement and logistics management
  • Strong understanding of project timing, individual product production lead times and shipping lead times
  • Previous ERP experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with colleagues about issues as they arise
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Additional Duties as assigned

 

Education

Candidates are required to have completed an associate degree or equivalent work experience and training.
