We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and highly effective project manager to join our growing Finance & Operations team and play a key role in supporting the wider teams. You’ll sit at the centre of our organisation, ensuring that our sales, inventory, technical and finance functions are aligned to ensure that client transactions are properly priced, contracted and invoiced, including coordinating with third party providers as appropriate.

 

What You'll Do

Coming into a scale up environment, you will need to run all finance and ops functions and support the team in delivering high growth. Your specific responsibilities include:

 

Operations

  • Ensure internal and third-party suppliers are aligned with relevant back-to-back agreements and payment terms and that prices are accurately quoted

  • Act as the central project management lead, ensuring that we have the systems and procedures to ensure first-class and accurate service to clients

  • Ensure that our clients and suppliers have a seamless and exemplary experience of contracting and transacting with Pinwheel

  • Play a role in various operational tasks to support the wider team

 

Finance

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable

  • Work with our external accountants to assist with the preparation of financial statements (management accounts, year-end accounts)

  • Support with payroll functions

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial controls

  • Work with the CTO and other directors to ensure that finance and ops systems are appropriately and effectively integrated with our product platform

 

About You

  • You have an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and are eager to take the next step in your career

  • You're passionate about sustainability and want to work for a company that's making a positive impact

  • You're a quick learner with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

  • You have excellent attention to detail and are a highly organised individual

  • You are proactive, curious and keen to apply your skills as relevant to support the growth and resilience of the business

  • You possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and are comfortable working independently as well as part of a team

  • You're highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), accounting software (e.g. Xero, Quickbooks) and are confident in the use of project management / CRM packages

 

Would be a bonus

  • Experience of working in the voluntary carbon and energy attribute certificates markets

  • Previous time spent in a scale up environment
