About the Role
Nuro is seeking a talented Total Rewards Lead to shape our compensation and benefits strategy. This role is essential to designing competitive, equitable, and scalable reward programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent in a rapidly evolving industry. You will lead initiatives to create holistic reward systems that align with Nuro’s mission while ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry best practices.
About the Work
In this role, you will report to Nuro’s Head of Human Resources and be responsible for a wide range of activities that are crucial to building and scaling a best-in-class total rewards program:
- Design and implement competitive total rewards programs (compensation, benefits, and equity) to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop and manage salary structures, job leveling, and performance-based reward systems.
- Collaborate with leadership and HR to ensure the rewards strategy aligns with overall business objectives.
- Lead benchmarking efforts to assess market trends and adjust programs accordingly.
- Oversee benefits administration and vendor management, ensuring a high-quality employee experience.
- Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations on compensation and benefits adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Drive communications and education initiatives around compensation and benefits to ensure employee understanding and engagement.
- Manage the annual compensation review and equity planning process.
About You
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits. Total rewards or compensation certification (e.g., CCP, GRP, SHRM-CP) is highly preferred and may substitute for some years of experience.
- Compensation Programs: Proven experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits and experience managing equity programs and annual compensation reviews.
- Compensation Systems: Compensation system experience preferred (i.e., WorkDay, Market Pay, SAP HR).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with expertise in Excel or data analysis tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present complex information clearly and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization.
- Program Management: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ownership: You’re a proactive, entrepreneurial self-starter with a demonstrated history of delivering innovative outcomes.

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $152,000 and $228,000/year for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
