You will provide transportation to the disabled community, ensuring they get where they need to go safely. Paratransit Drivers provide passengers with safe, reliable transportation and excellent customer service.

What we offer:

Hourly starting rate $16.47
Extra $2.00 per hour bonus while on Council on Aging Field Trips
25-30 hours per week.
Varying work days Monday - Friday, occasionally some weekends.
General work hours varies between 7am - 3pm.
Ability to advance your career
Required: Must have CDL License with (P) Passenger Endorsement.

What you will be doing:

Provide transportation for Council on Aging - Jefferson Parish on field trips around Metro New Orleans, La. and Baton Rouge, La.
Safely operate 18 - 20 passenger shuttle vehicle safely and efficiently
Ensure passengers are properly secured and provide assistance with all entries and exits
Greet passengers, accept fare payment and maintain a safe environment
Properly report all incidents, accidents, mechanical concerns
Completes pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Other duties as required

Who you are:

At least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
A valid driver’s license in good standing.
Possess excellent customer service and communication skills
Punctual with an emphasis on attendance.
