The GIS Analyst is responsible for acquiring, managing, and analyzing spatial data to support project development. This includes identifying project sites, creating geo-databases, performing site suitability analysis, and developing infrastructure layouts. They ensure data accuracy, collaborate with internal teams and contractors, and maintain GIS software and spatial datasets to high standards.

Base salary range $80K-$90K, dependent upon experience, plus superannuation, performance bonus & other attractive benefits.

Job Description

  • GIS Data Management: Acquire, create, and analyse GIS datasets and maps for projects, ensuring accuracy and quality under GIS Team Lead supervision.
  • Project Development: Assist in identifying project sites, manage geo-databases, perform site suitability mapping, and develop infrastructure layouts with internal teams.
  • Project Delivery: Collaborate with engineers to design site layouts and ensure data accuracy with surveyors and contractors.
  • Data Maintenance: Maintain and audit spatial data, manage GIS software, and ensure all datasets are up-to-date and reliable.

Required Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Degree in Geospatial Science or related field, 1 year experience
  • Proficient in GIS, surveying, GPS, and remote sensing
  • Experienced with ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online for webmaps, data management, and field data capture
  • Familiarity with FME software and GIS data management principles
  • Strong communication, stakeholder, and time management skills
     

Advantageous:

  • Python scripting for ESRI ArcGIS, customization of webmaps and webapps
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (3D modeling a plus)
  • Willingness to travel within Australia
