Job Description
The Plant & Equipment Supervisor is responsible for the Procurement, Inspection and Supervision of Plant and Spoil on the Alkimos Seawater Alliance.
The Project
The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - A new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos.
At completion of stage 1 the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year.
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Supervise all site spoil and truck operations onsite
- Play an integral role in Spoil and Truck commissioning/onboarding in line with project specifications and program deadlines
- Conduct plant and truck inspections as required. Supervise plant and truck maintenance, ensuring preventative and breakdown maintenance is carried out in a timely manner which ensures the integrity of the machine is maintained and availability is maximised
- Ensure effective and responsive supervision of trucks through supervising the plant and truck fleet and project assets to ensure plant availability
- Liaise with the Construction Leads, Discipline Manager, Superintendents & Supervisors to maximise efficiency of resources
- Regularly review spoil and advise the team of any changes or commercial opportunities
- Manage the deliverables in the Plant and Heavy Vehicle Management Plans
Required Skills and Competencies
- HV license and Plant license/s
- White Card
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in infrastructure
- Strong understanding of plant and equipment operations, maintenance practices, and safety regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
