About the role
BURN is seeking a Production Supervisor for our facility in Kano, who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the production process.
The role involves overseeing the activities of production workers, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with quality and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Production Operations.
  • Overall responsibility for reporting on production deliverables and training of production operators in the factory.
  • Ensure that stoves are produced promptly and are produced within quality guidelines.
  • Support the production manager in ensuring that the planned quantity of stoves is produced each shift.
  • Raise issues, problems, and breakdowns with the engineering team as soon as possible and support in timely resolution.
  • Work closely with the production manager and planning department to raise work orders.
  • Work closely with other departments to help with quick resolutions of matters affecting production.
  • Supervise and motivate factory workers.
  • Ensure that all factory operator’s records of daily reporting, training and capabilities are up to date.
  • Work with HR in dealing with factory workers’ requests for leave and any other HR-related issues.
  • A large part of an assistant production manager’s job is dealing with people. It is important to treat people with respect and treat others how you would like to be treated yourself.
  • Work with department heads to uphold and implement Burn policies and goals.
  • Ensure all the safety protocols are adhered to on the factory floor.
  • Focus on continuous improvement for safety in the workplace.
Skills and Experience:
  • A bachelor’s degree in industrial/ mechanical engineering degree.
  • At least 3 years of work with supervision of a manufacturing assembly line.
  • An appreciation and experience with effecting safe work practices that are in compliance with local laws and generally accepted EHS standards.
  • An appreciation of production related methodology and processed – SOPs, Work Instructions.
  • Great people skill
  • Good communicator – in English

  • Hands on
  • Conversant with EHS code and regulations
  • Sheet metal background/ experience
  • Experience in Microsoft NAV and MS Office.
