Web Developer Team Lead (Volunteer)
Note: The following is an opportunity for flexible, part-time, volunteer work to address climate change. Please DO NOT APPLY if you are only looking for paid employment. A 6-month commitment is preferred at minimum. This is a remote-from-home position.

We are looking for an action-oriented individual who is excited to address climate change to be the new web development team leader. We need help to build and scale our impact. About the role
Play a lead role in the web development team.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and organization to the web development team.
Lead by example, setting technical direction and ensuring the team follows best practices.
Coordinate and delegate tasks across the development team, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
Review and provide timely feedback on Pull Requests.
Improve the current Earth Hero website in collaboration with other developers and UI/UX designers.
Lead the creation of the web app version of Earth Hero, complementing the mobile app version.
Act as the primary point of contact for technical discussions and decisions within the team.
Experiences useful in this role
5+ years of website development experience.
Proven experience leading and managing a team of developers, including task delegation and code review.
Solid experience with React + Gatsby.
Familiarity with Firebase or similar NoSQL databases is a bonus.
A creative mind with a keen eye for design and detail.
Good communication skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Experience working with remote teams, particularly across different time zones, is an advantage.

Expectations
You will work remotely and on your own schedule. Roles work best with a minimum commitment of 6 months for 3 - 5 hours a week (or more if you like!). Because our all-volunteer team is spread throughout the world, we rely mostly on a combination of Slack, Github, and video calls to communicate.
If you possess a high level of self-motivation, work well independently, have strong collaboration skills, enjoy the opportunity to partner with like-minded individuals, and can commit quality time per week to help achieve team goals, we would love to hear from you.
