About the Role

Kevala is looking for a Data Discovery Analyst to join our expanding Analytics and Methodology team. Our team is composed of dedicated professionals who are passionate about utilizing data to unlock insights and create value. The individual will play a critical role in exploring and analyzing complex data sets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that inform business strategies and decision-making processes. This role requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in data analysis, statistical methods, and data visualization.

What you will be doing

  • ●  Use programming tools like Python and Google Bigquery to conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in large and complex data sets.

  • ●  Utilize statistical methods and data mining techniques to uncover insights and support data-driven decision-making.

  • ●  Create clear, compelling visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders.

  • ●  Use tools such as Google looker studio, Microsoft Excel or similar platforms to develop interactive and informative visual representations of data.

  • ●  Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data engineers and data scientists, to understand data needs and objectives.

  • ●  Act as a domain expert for complex energy datasets, setting expectations for data quality based on domain knowledge.

  • ●  Collaborate with the Data Product Manager to meet roadmap objectives.

  • ●  Support the planning and coordination of data receipt and discovery from clients and work with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive backlog of data discovery activities.

  • ●  Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both in written reports and verbal presentations.

  • ●  Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data by performing data cleaning, validation, and verification processes.

  • ●  Help develop and implement data quality standards and best practices.

  • ●  Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to data analysis and

    visualization.

  • ●  Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of

    data governance policies.

    What you need to succeed

  • ●  Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • ●  Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, data discovery, or a similar role.

  • ●  Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Google Looker Studio or similar

    platforms.

  • ●  Proficiency in Python, SQL, or other relevant programming languages.

  • ●  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and

    draw meaningful conclusions.

  • ●  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey

    technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • ●  Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

  • ●  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    Kevala is headquartered in San Francisco, but we embrace the virtual office and are continuing to grow our team across the United States.

    Compensation

    The total compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of $115,000 - $140,000 plus equity (stock options). This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple

factors including level, experience, and location. As you go through our interview process, our recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed range and combine it with an equity package that will support your excitement in joining Kevala.
