About the Role

Kevala is recruiting for the position of Finance Manager. This individual will drive the achievement of company business objectives through consistent implementation of finance policies, budget management and financial forecasting.

What you will be doing

  • ●  Improve upon and make updates to the company’s financial forecast model which is the basis for planning, analysis, reporting and overall financial management.

  • ●  Develop metrics, KPI’s and dashboards for measuring performance and progress on established financial objectives.

  • ●  Prepare annual, monthly, and quarterly financial reports to share with key stakeholders.

  • ●  Collect inputs to the company annual operational budget and prepare reports on quarterly

    variances to the budget forecast.

  • ●  Review and approve of company budget requests and employee expenses.

  • ●  Review department expenses against budget with department managers to identify

    variances and recommend appropriate courses of action.

  • ●  Review contracts and determine appropriate invoicing schedule and internal revenue

    recognition.

  • ●  Manage company profiles within supplier systems purchasing portals.

  • ●  Engage with a contract bookkeeper to ensure invoices are generated, submitted and paid

    on time.

  • ●  Support the external auditors in completion of annual audit.

  • ●  Coordinate with external tax professionals for preparing tax filings and report on topics such

    as global tax considerations and R&D tax credits.

    What you need to succeed

  • ●  10+ years of finance experience including a solid understanding of financial and generally accepted accounting principles.

  • ●  3+ years of management experience (this can be a combination of in-house, external contractors, and/or outsourced firms).

  • ●  Experience working in a small-to-midsize, fast-growing organization with ability to build relationships with employees, leadership, and external partners.

  • ●  Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure compliance with the company’s financial processes and policies.

  • ●  Experience in design and maintenance of complex financial models, including advanced Excel skills.

  • ●  Experience with QuickBooks Online.

  • ●  An understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.

  • ●  Working knowledge of relevant company-related statutory legislation and regulations.

  • ●  Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.

    What will make you stand out

  • Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA.

  • Experience in a California-based cleantech or SaaS company.

  • Interest in energy/cleantech industries, particularly among utilities and regulatory bodies.

  • Experience scaling a high growth company with a mix of startup and enterprise-level

    experience.

  • Experience with working with and/or implementing Enterprise resource planning (ERP) such

    as NetSuite, Oracle, Sage.

    Kevala is headquartered in San Francisco, but we embrace the virtual office and are continuing to grow our team across the United States.

    Compensation

    The total compensation for this opportunity includes a base salary range of $120,000 - $185,000 plus equity (stock options). This is our target compensation range and is subject to multiple factors including level, experience, and location. As you go through our interview process, our recruiter will work with you to identify a competitive base salary within the proposed range and combine it with an equity package that will support your excitement in joining Kevala.
