Overview
RES is currently accepting applications for a CAD Technician, based out of our San Francisco or Sacramento, California office.
The mission: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CAD Technician to join our engineering team. The CAD Technician will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings and plans for ecosystem restoration projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other related software to support the development of high-quality designs that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.

What your day-to-day might look like?
- Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D based on engineering designs and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure technical drawings align with project goals and timelines.
- Update and revise existing drawings to reflect project changes and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing design packages for submittals to regulatory agencies and clients.
- Maintain organized project files and drawing archives for easy retrieval and reference.
- Perform basic earthwork volume calculations and assist with grading design as needed.
- Support field data collection by integrating survey information into project designs.
- Ensure that all drawings adhere to company standards and quality control procedures.

Qualifications
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
- Formal CAD training.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant drafting software.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
- Understanding of civil engineering concepts, including grading, stormwater management, and ecological restoration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- 2+ years of experience in a CAD drafting role, preferably in civil or environmental engineering projects.
What will make you stand out?
- Experience with environmental restoration.
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Salary: $29 - $39 per hour
