In this pivotal role, you will lead our organization’s learning and people engagement initiatives, playing a crucial part in driving our employees’ growth and development. We are seeking a proactive, resilient, and seasoned expert in learning capability and people engagement, committed to delivering high-impact results.

As the driving force behind our learning and development strategy, you will design and implement innovative training programs that foster continuous learning and professional growth. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating a culture of self-directed learning, utilizing cutting-edge digital tools and platforms to enhance the learning experience. In addition to your focus on learning and development, you will champion people engagement across the organization. You will develop and execute initiatives that boost employee engagement and wellbeing that reinforce our company culture.

This role demands a high-energy individual capable of functioning in a global context, effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and adeptly handling both strategic and operational tasks to drive success.

You will report directly to the Head of Change Management and Continuous Improvement, based in Zurich, Switzerland. As an integral member of our international SCM Change Management and Continuous Improvement (CMCI) Team, you will engage with colleagues across various regions to foster a culture of high performance and engagement.

Your responsibilities

1) Training and Development Strategy

  • Define and develop a comprehensive, agile, and future-focused learning strategy and delivery plan

  • Establish and prioritize data driven technology and evolving technologies, optimizing training products to enhance learning impact and user experience

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development, promoting digital and self-directed learning tools and platforms

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of learning programs using relevant metrics and feedback mechanisms

  • Continuously improve programs based on insights and best practices

  • Ensure training resources are utilized and coordinated effectively, aligning training priorities with business strategy

  • Establish and manage vendor relations, ensuring the acquisition of training and learning opportunities from external providers

  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals as needed


2) Skills and Competency Development

  • Work cross-functionally with Head of SCM and his direct reports as well as SCM HR Business Partner and the BU SCM Managers to identify changing skills needs and align business, talent, and learning outcomes

  • Drive the development of skills, competencies, and career paths, aligning closely with talent management and succession planning processes


3) Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders


4) Employee Engagement and Wellbeing

  • Provide organizational and project management support in employee engagement activities and wellbeing initiative

  • Act as an internal engagement and culture ambassador dedicated to fostering engagement and culture

  • Support activities/programs that recognize and celebrate employee achievements and success stories

Your background

  • University degree in Education, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field

  • At least 10+ years of experience as a capability lead or in a similar role within an international business environment, with a proven track record in building a learning organization

  • Experience in designing, developing, leading, and delivering large cross-organizational training and digital projects, including transitioning to digital environments (e.g., re-platforming, online, blended, mobile, and disruptive technologies)

  • Business fluency in English (essential, both verbally and in writing); knowledge of other languages is an asset

  • Highly experienced with digital tools, including e-learning platforms, HR systems, and Microsoft MS365 applications

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence through facts, policies and practices as well as engage diverse audiences

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices
