Job Description: Training Manager
Overview

The Training Manager manages the driver training program by; providing oversite to classroom instruction for new hire candidates and incumbent employees in defensive driving, passenger assistance, documentation, route service area familiarization, emergency procedures and all aspects of a vehicle operator position; also ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and company policies.
Salary Range:
$70,000 - $80,000
Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversite of the ODP classroom instruction which meets or exceeds Transdev requirements.
  • Design training schedules for newly hired and existing employees.
  • Produce reports and maintain all training documents to support all training activities.
  • Manage/Oversee classroom trainers, BTW’s and revenue trainers.
  • Create, implement, and maintain effective classroom, BTW and revenue training schedules.
  • Schedule effective classroom, BTW and revenue training with safety training team.
  • Manage and maintain all training records.
  • Develop and conduct continuing training as needed to ensure the success of new and veteran operators.
  • Recommend and develop remedial training in response to Operator accidents, injuries and customer comments.
  • Acts as back up to Safety Manager as required.
  • Other duties required.
 
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent such as GED REQURIED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development or related field preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in related field work
  • 2-3 years’ experience preparing safety related lesson plans, learning and identifying safety objectives and evaluating programs
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience designing and delivering training or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience training drivers, including program and curriculum development and implementation
Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient with computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • DMV certified tester certificate 
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Current valid Driver’s License – for 3 years
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current DOT physical and CDL with passenger endorsement
  • Drug testing and background check
  • Testing related to job requirements

The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the environment is moderate
