Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Lead is responsible for the oversight of all production-related activities on the assigned shift and module. The Lead is also in charge of overseeing the daily work of employees, such as assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring staffing targets are met; coordinates, tracks, and prioritizes line responsibilities to ensure that production goals are met; and ensures that safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise team members on an 8 hour shift.
- In coordination with the Production Manager, help organize and manage daily activity of the area(s) by setting priorities for personnel, production schedules, equipment activities, and product flow.
- Ensure the shift priorities and work schedule are adhered to in all manufacturing areas. Checks on progress and quality of the work throughout the shift.
- Encourages and facilitates the constructive resolution of conflict.
- Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
- Provide technical, strategic, and tactical direction for the area/shift Team.
- Actively support and maintain a safe working environment by modelling and monitoring the use of established company safety programs on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure that all personnel comply with company protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of housekeeping and safe working practices within the production area.
- Monitors and expedites flow of materials within their production area.
- Coordinating material to allocate work and enable people to work effectively.
- Set work for production team daily and run team production meetings.
- Ensure daily plan is completed in full.
- Maintain a disciplined and organized production line.
- Maintains product workflow records.
- Tracking and monitoring the production team performance.
- Drive 5S, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement within the factory.
- Assist in the effective implementation of lean manufacturing techniques within the production area.
- Ensure the continued implementation of the departments Quality Procedures.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate orally, read, and write using the English language
- Ability to work using hands and have good manual dexterity with attention to detail
- Computer skills - Outlook, Excel, Word
- Min of 3 years’ experience of operating in a fast-moving production environment;
- Demonstrated experience and skill using computers in the factory environment for automation, analysis, and communication - including email, web applications and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster a professional work environment that instills trust and confidence among reports, peers, and supporting organizations.
- Ability and willingness to alter schedule as needed for in support of training, coverage, and off-shift meetings.
- Demonstrated leadership potential in a factory organization and working as a team with other disciplines.
- This individual is not happy simply delivering commitments but is continuously driving to exceed all targets.
- Previous leadership/supervision experience is a plus.
- Must be able to:
- lift 40 lbs, unassisted
- visually inspect small parts
- use small hand tools like tweezers, hex keys, and probes/picks
- use a microscope
- use hands to move and assemble very small parts and fastening devices
- sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able and willing to train coworkers
Desired skills:
- A.A. or A.S. degree or equivalent experience (e.g., military training) desired
- 8+ years related experience with electro-mechanical assembly desired
- Expert with mechanical and electrical concepts
- ESD procedures
- ISO 9001 experience – preferred

Salary Range:
$60,500.00-$80,850.000Pay Transparency
