Position Summary: 

As the first line of management, this position is a key role in leading the IR Practice in delivery of client services and meeting TÜV SÜD GRC business targets through USA West regional management of staff for timely, cost effective, technically consistent, quality services.

Responsibility and Authority - West Region/District:

  • Productivity (Hours):
    • Manage direct reports to meet KPI productivity targets (Monthly / Annual)
    • Monthly West Region Productivity Report to Global Manager by 1st THUR of every Month
      • Provides KPI Productivity Goal vs. Target Confirmed Scheduled EDA plan per Workload Management (IR-1120), % of Goal (+/-), explanatory notes on both Individual & Region Performance gaps
  • Workloads: Effectively manage field staff workloads to maintain staff performance to KPI productivity, reassign excess work to other staff
    • Will require close coordination with Global IR Manager, as the role support efforts within Midwest and East Regions (and vice versa for West Regions) work across District/Regional lines to meet work demands
    • Effectively manage rush work vs. Corporate Clients
  • Work Assignment: Efficiently assign work to field staff to optimize performance within the region for trip group, travel efficiencies and using field staff expertise to match the job
  • Timeliness: Manage field engineering work for timeliness per IR Practice report turnaround KPI goals
    • All Client work to be completed by Client Contract Expiration Dates (Insp Period To)
    • 5-day AVG
    • 10-day maximum
    • 30-day delivery by GRC Administrative team to Client Corporate distribution
  • Quality: Manage field engineering work (in combination with Quality Team) to meet Quality KPI standards (>90% Average Quality Score and EDA 2.70 Quality Score)
  • Equipment: Oversee field staff equipment:
    • Maintain Inventory of Region equipment
    • Ensure all equipment within Region is properly maintained & calibrated annually
    • Notify Global IR Manager of all repair needs and route repairs through vendor(s)
    • Work with Global IR Manager for all equipment purchases (purchases to be made/authorized by Global IR Manager), contingency spares
    • Coordinate equipment swap needs with Global IR Manager and Global IR Manager’s Administrator
    • 100% execution of Equipment Repair/Transfer Form for all movement of equipment (repairs, swaps, new, etc.). Maintain documentation in shared Teams folder, hard-drive and back-up drive.
  • Safety: Oversee/manage all aspects of safety within the Region:
    • Field staff PPE for compliance with safety standards (TÜV SÜD, TÜV SÜD GRC, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
    • Ensuring proper safety training (i.e. Coordinate closely with Global IR Manager for dept protocols, internal dept trainings, corporate trainings, e-Learning, others as needed)
    • Safety Skills: Assignment, tracking, documentation for all required coursework (refer to Global IR Manager)
    • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Course work (GRC’s Electrical Safety Notes Cards, Safety Skills, other Dept Coursework)
    • Coordinate purchases of all PPE through Global IR Manager’s national vendor(s).
  • Develop/manage Account Engineering Staff for district Accounts
  • Work collaboratively with other Global IR Manager to meet service delivery company-wide
  • Maintain quality through reviews and feedback from internal/external stakeholders, including Quality Team and Global IR Manager
  • Identify development needs of staff and facilitate performance improvement as needed
  • Track servicing needs based on client workload
  • Hire staff within Region/District to meet servicing needs in functional roles
  • Manage performance and disciplinary issues within Region/District
  • Oversee Region/District administrative functions such as corporate initiatives, expense accounts,
  • Work collaboratively with HR to address general and employee specific issues
  • Manage district – specific administrative needs based on local governmental regulations

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Sciences OR Business.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in property risk engineering roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Preferred experience leading a team in project management, training or supervisory role(s).
  • Level II Infrared Electrical Certified to American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), SNT-TC-1a
  • Level I Airborne Ultrasound Certified Electrical, Mechanical to ASNT, SNT-TC-1a
